MC-01 is on the road! For the past few weeks, I’ve been using the moped to run errands and commute. The bike is incredibly stable at higher speeds (around 45 mph) and the suspension system works well. My future plans are to complete a custom Arduino-powered lighting system and paint the frame black.
MC-01 is an electric motorcycle project undertaken by myself and two other Cal Poly engineers, Miles Curtis and Junnior Rodriguez. We are designing and fabricating the frame and battery from scratch in order to create a vehicle that excels across riding environments while embodying a vintage cafe-racer inspired aesthetic. This blog will track our progress, from start to (hopefully) finish, on the physical prototypes.
